Kadai Paneer
Kadai paneer is the combination of paneer, onion and colorfull bell peppers coated with spicy tomato sauce, aromatic spices and herbs. Kadai means “wok”
Ingredients
- Oil -1 tbsp
- Butter- 2 tbsp
- Capsicum - 1
- Onion - 2
- Dried fenugreek leaves - 2 tsp
- Paneer - 200 g
- Kashmir chilly powder - 2 tsp
- Pepper - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin - 1 tsp
- Fennel - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander seed - 2 tsp
- Dry chillies - 4
- Tomato - 3
- Cinnamon - Small l piece
- Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tsp
- Salt - as required
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Make tomato puree.
- Heat pan and dry roast pepper. coriander, fennel seeds, cumin seeds, cinnamon and dry red chillies.
- Cool them and grind them into a fine powder.
- Heat pan, add oil, melt butter, add chopped onions and saute them.
- Add salt.
- Add ginger garlic paste, saute till raw smell goes.
- Add chopped capsicums.
- Add chilli powder.
- Add tomato puree.
- Add paneer, sprinkle some water and cook them.
- Add grounded powder.
- Add dried fenugreek leaves once water drains and paneer gets cooked.
- Sprinkle sugar.
- Garnish and serve hot with roti, naan or chapati.
