Chow-Chow/Chayote Fry
Ingredients
- Chow Chow - 1
- Ginger and Garlic Paste - 1/2 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1/2 tsp
- Fennel powder - 1/4 tsp
- lemon juice - 1/2 tbsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin powder - 1/4 tsp
- Pepper powder - 1/2 tsp
- Salt - as required
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Curry leaves and coriander leaves - few
Method
- Chop chow chow into thin slices.
- Marinate it by adding ginger garlic paste, chilli powder, fennel powder, turmeric, coriander powder, cumin powder, pepper powder and lemon juice for about 1/2 an hour.
- Now, heat oil in a pan, add marinated chow chow pieces.
- Cover lid and cook till chow chow gets cooked (no water need to be added).
- Finally add salt, mix well.
- Garnish with curry and coriander leaves and serve.
