Turkey Gravy

Health Benefits of Turkey:

 Turkey is a rich source of protein. Skinless turkey is low in fat. Turkey meat is a source of iron, zinc, potassium and phosphorus. It is also a source of vitamin B6 and niacin, which are both essential for the body's energy production. Regular turkey consumption can help lower cholesterol levels.

Ingredients

For marination:
  • Turkey - 500 g
  • Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Turmeric a pinch
  • Chilly powder - 1 tsp
For grinding:
  • Fennel seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Pepper powder - 2 tsp
  • Dry red chillies - 3
  • Small onions - 10
  • Garlic - 5 cloves
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Ginger - 1 inch
  • Gram dal - 2 tsp
  • Coconut - 3 tbsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 pinnate
  • Tomato - 2
For sauteing:
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Fennel seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 pinnate
  • Onion(large) - 2
  • Green chillies - 1
  • Coriander powder - 1 1/2 tbsp

Method
  1. Marinate turkey with the ingredients mentioned under for marination for about half an hour.
  2. Meanwhile heat pan, add fennel seeds, cumin seeds, pepper powder, dry red chillies, garlic and then add oil.




  3. Saute well.
  4. Add ginger, gram dal, coconut, curry leaves and tomatoes.
  5. Cool them, grind them and keep aside.
  6. Now, heat oil in pressure cooker and add fennel seeds,cumin seeds and curry leaves.
  7. Add finely chopped onions and green chillies.
  8. Add marinated turkey pieces and coriander powder.


  9. Cover the pressure cooker, leave for 1 whistle and simmer for 10 minutes(without adding water).
  10. Open lid, add grounded paste, stir well.
  11. Close lid again, leave for 1 whistle and simmer for 10 minutes(without adding water).
  12. Garnish and serve.
