Karaikudi Style Tomato Chutney
Ingredients
- Vengaya Vadagam - 1 tsp (Dried onions -[ready to use blend] of spices)
- Tomatoes - 4-5
- Dry red chillies - 3
- Salt as needed
- Gingelly oil - 2 tsp
Method
- Chop tomatoes, grind them adding salt and red chillies, keep aside.
- Heat oil in a pan.
- Add vengaya vadagam and saute till the spices in it pops.
- Then, add grounded tomato paste.
- Simmer for 15-20 mins without adding water.
- Add extra oil if needed.
- Serve with idly or dosa.
