Cauliflower Peas Curry / Gobi Mutter Masla ( Restaurant Style )

Ingredients
  • Oil - 2 tbsp
  • Onion - 1
  • Garlic - 4
  • Ginger - smal piece
  • Tomatoes - 2 (ripe )
  • Dry red chillies - 4
  • Poppy seeds - 2 tsp
  • Cashews - 5
  • Cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • Cardamom pod - 1
  • Cinnamon stick - 1
  • Dry fenugreek leaves - 2 tsp
  • Peas - 1/2 cup
  • Sugar - 1/2 tsp
  • Butter - 1tbsp
  • Salt - as required
  • Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
Method
  1. Cut and clean cauliflower florets.
  2. Mix florets with some oil and chilli powder and cook in preheated oven for 10 mins (optional) else add in hot water for 10-15 mins.
  3. Soak cashews in hot water for 10 mins.
  4. Heat oil 2 tsp in a pan, add dry red chillies, garlic, ginger and fry them.
  5. Add sliced onions and saute till it becomes translucent.
  6. Add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy.
  7. Add poppy seeds and mix along.
  8. Cool and grind the above mixture adding soaked cashews and little amount of water.
  9. Now, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add cardamom pod, cinnamon stick, splutter cumin seeds, add the grounded tomato paste and boil for 5 mins in medium heat.
  10. Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala, cook again.
  11. Now, add cauliflower florets, cook for 3 mins in low flame.
  12. Add peas.

  13. Add water, sugar and dried fenugreek leaves boil for 5 minutes.
  14.  Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
  15. Add fresh cream or milk on top (optional)
