Cauliflower Peas Curry / Gobi Mutter Masla ( Restaurant Style )
Ingredients
- Oil - 2 tbsp
- Onion - 1
- Garlic - 4
- Ginger - smal piece
- Tomatoes - 2 (ripe )
- Dry red chillies - 4
- Poppy seeds - 2 tsp
- Cashews - 5
- Cumin - 1/2 tsp
- Cardamom pod - 1
- Cinnamon stick - 1
- Dry fenugreek leaves - 2 tsp
- Peas - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp
- Butter - 1tbsp
- Salt - as required
- Kashmiri chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
- Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
- Cut and clean cauliflower florets.
- Mix florets with some oil and chilli powder and cook in preheated oven for 10 mins (optional) else add in hot water for 10-15 mins.
- Soak cashews in hot water for 10 mins.
- Heat oil 2 tsp in a pan, add dry red chillies, garlic, ginger and fry them.
- Add sliced onions and saute till it becomes translucent.
- Add tomatoes and cook till it becomes mushy.
- Add poppy seeds and mix along.
- Cool and grind the above mixture adding soaked cashews and little amount of water.
- Now, heat 1 tbsp of oil in a pan, add cardamom pod, cinnamon stick, splutter cumin seeds, add the grounded tomato paste and boil for 5 mins in medium heat.
- Add salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala, cook again.
- Now, add cauliflower florets, cook for 3 mins in low flame.
- Add peas.
- Add water, sugar and dried fenugreek leaves boil for 5 minutes.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
- Add fresh cream or milk on top (optional)
