Paruppu Usli
Ingredients
- Ladies Finger / Beans - 1 cup
- Channa Dal - 1 cup
- Toor Dal - 1/4 cup
- Red chillies - 4
- Asafoetida a pinch
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Urad dal - 1 tsp
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Oil - 2 tsp
- Curry leaves - 1 pinnate
- Soak channa dal, toor dal for 2 hours.
- Drain water and grind them with asafoetida, red chillies, curry leaves and salt (without adding water).
- Steam the grounded mixture in idly vessel for 7-10 mins in high flame.
- Cool them and grind again once ( not powdery).
- Heat oil in a pan, add mustard, urad dal and then add cooked dal mixture.
- Cook them till it becomes brown.
- Meanwhile, cook chopped ladies finger or beans separately in a pan.
- When dal becomes brown, add cooked vegetables, add required salt, mix together and serve.
