Falafel
Falafel is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas. Falafel is a traditional Egyptian and Middle Eastern food, commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon.
Falafel is a common dish eaten throughout the Middle East. The fritters are now found around the world as a replacement for meat and as a form of street food.
Ingredients
- Chick Peas - 1 cup
- Coriander leaves - few
- Parsley - few
- Salt as needed
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Onion - 1
- Garlic - 10 cloves
- Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
- Coriander powder - 1/4 tsp
- Oil for deep frying
- Soak chick peas in water overnight.
- Drain water and grind chick peas along with coriander leaves, parsley, chilli powder and salt (without adding water).
- Add chopped onions, chopped garlic, turmeric, coriander powder and pepper powder.
- Mix them well, make balls.
- Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them.
- Serve.
