Falafel

Falafel  is a deep-fried ball or patty made from ground chickpeas. Falafel is a traditional Egyptian and Middle Eastern food, commonly served in a pita, which acts as a pocket, or wrapped in a flatbread known as taboon.
Falafel is a common dish eaten throughout the Middle East. The fritters are now found around the world as a replacement for meat and as a form of street food.

Ingredients
  • Chick Peas - 1 cup
  • Coriander leaves - few
  • Parsley - few
  • Salt as needed
  • Chilli powder - 1 tsp
  • Onion - 1 
  • Garlic - 10 cloves
  • Pepper powder - 1/4 tsp
  • Coriander powder -  1/4 tsp
  • Oil for deep frying
Method
  1. Soak chick peas in water overnight.
  2. Drain water and grind chick peas along with coriander leaves, parsley, chilli powder and salt (without adding water).

  3. Add chopped onions, chopped garlic, turmeric, coriander powder and pepper powder.
  4. Mix them well, make balls.
  5. Heat oil in a pan and deep fry them.
  6. Serve.
