Curry Leaves Rice

Ingredients
  • Cooked Rice - 1 cup
  • Salt as needed
Curry Leaves Powder:
  • Gingelly Oil - 2 tsp
  • Channa Dal - 2 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 2 tsp
  • Cumin Seeds - 1 tsp 
  • Fenugreek Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Peppercorns - 1 tsp
  • Dry Red Chillies - 4
  • Sesame Seeds - 1/2 tsp
  • Curry leaves - 1 cup
  • Asafoetida a pinch
  • Tamarind - 1 inch
Tempering:
  • Gingelly Oil - 2 tsp
  • Channa Dal - 1 tsp
  • Urad Dal - 1 tsp
  • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
  • Peanuts - 1 tbsp
  • Dry Red Chillies - 2
Method
  1. Cook rice and keep aside.
Curry Leavs Powder:
  1. Heat 2 tsp oil in a pan, add channa dal, urad dal, cumin seeds, fenugreek seeds, peppercorns, dry red chillies, sesame seeds, curry leaves and roast them.
  2. Extract tamarind juice add to the above ingredients and boil for few mins.
  3. Grind them into a fine powder.
Tempering:
  1. Heat oil in a pan, splutter mustard, add urad dal, channa dal, peanuts and dry red chillies.

  2. Add cooked rice.
  3. Add salt.
  4. Add curry leaves powder made.
  5. Mix well and serve with pappad.
