Red Lentil Chicken

Ingredients
- Red lentils/Masoor dal - 1 1/2 cup
- Chicken - 500 g
- Onion - 1 (large)
- Tomatoes - 1
- Ginger - 1 inch
- Chilli powder - 2 tsp
- Coriander powder - 2 tsp
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Water - 1 cup
- Salt as needed
- Coconut oil - 1 tsp
- Cinnamon - 1
- Cloves - 4
- Cardamom - 2
- Pepper corns - 1/2 tsp
- Garlic - 4 fat cloves
- Onion - 1/2
- Coconut - 1 tbsp
- Coconut oil - 2 tsp
- Mustard - 1 tsp
- Green chillies - 2
Method
- Wash chicken and red lentils, half cook in a pressure cooker by adding chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric, water for one whistle.
- Meanwhile, heat oil in a pan, saute ingredients under grind one by one, cool and grind adding little amount of water.
- Once lentils and chicken is half cooked, add grounded masala paste on it along with some chopped onions, chopped ginger, chopped tomatoes, water and salt.
- Pressure cook for 5 minutes.
- Heat oil in a separate pan, crackle mustard, saute green chillies.
- Add cooked chicken and lentils over it and cook again for 5 minutes in pan.
- Garnish and serve with roti or rice.
