Channa Masala 
Channa Masala is a popular dish in Indian and Pakistani cuisine.main ingredient is chickpeas.It is popular mainly in northern India, and also notably in the region of Gujarat. In the Gujarat and Rajasthani areas.

Ingredients
  • Oil - 1 tbsp
  • Onion - 2
  • Ginger Garlic paste - 1 tbsp
  • Tomato - 3
  • Tumeric - 1/4 tsp
  • Chilly powder - 1 1/2 tsp
  • Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
  • Channa Masala - 3 tsp
  • Soaked Channa/chick peas - 1 cup
  • Water - as needed
  • Coriander leaves - 1/4 cup
  • Tomato Ketchup - 1 tsp
Powder
  • Cinnamon - 1
  • Cardamom - 1
  • Cloves - 1
  • Fennel Seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Cumin seeds - 1/4 tsp
  • Pepper - 1/4 tsp
  • Khus Khus(poppy seeds) - 1/4 tsp

Method
  • Soak channa overnight.
  • Dry roast ingredients under powder , grind them and keep aside.
  • Heat oil in a cooker and add grounded powder.
  • Add sliced onions, saute.
  • Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
  • Add chopped tomatoes, cook till it becomes mushy.
  • Add chilly powder, coriander powder, turmeric and channa masala.
  • Now, add soaked channa, mix well and cover lid for 5 mins.
  • Open lid, add needed amount of water, cover and cook for 1 whistle and simmer for 20 minutes.
  • Once channa is cooked, take 1/2 cup of channa in a bowl and mash them well, pour again in cooker.
  • Add coriander leaves and tomato ketchup.
  • Serve with chappathi or rice.
