HEALTH BENEFITS OF SPRING ONIONS
Spring onions are good for cardiovascular health. They lower the oxidation of cholesterol and reduce the risk of coronary heart disease.Anti-bacterial properties in it help to fight against cold and flu. Good against eye disease and eye problems.
INGREDIENTS
- Spring onion - a bunch(finely chopped)
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Mustard - 1/2 tsp
- Cumin - 1/2 tsp
- Turmeric - a pinch
- Onion - 1/2 (large)
- Tomatoes - 2 (medium)
- Dried fenugreek leaves - 1/4 tsp
- Spring onion white lisbon
- Red chilli powder - 1/2 tbsp
- Garam masala - a pinch
- Salt - as needed
- Water - 1/2 cup
- Sugar - 1/2 tsp

METHOD
- Heat oil in a pan add mustard and cumin.
- Once it pops add chopped onion, spring onion white lisbon and dried fenugreek leaves.
- Saute untill it turns golden brown.
- Then add chopped tomatoes.
- Add a pinch of turmeric, red chilli powder.
- Add salt, chopped spring onions, mix through.
- Add water, cover and cook for 10 mins in low flame.
- Once texture thickens, sprinkle a pinch of garam masala
- Finally, add sugar.
- Goes well with chappathi, curd rice and dosa.
