Sev Puri
Sev puri (Marathii) is an Indian snack and a type of chaat. It is a speciality that originates from MumbaiMaharashtra. In Mumbai and Pune, sev puri is strongly associated with street food, but is also served at upscale locations.
Although there is no fixed recipe for sev puri, the basic ingredients used widely are the same. Sev puri is essentially made of puriwhich is loaded with diced potatoesonions, three types of chutneystamarindchili and garlic and topped with sev. It is seasoned with raw mango, when raw mango is in season or with a hint of lemon and chaat masala.

Ingredients
  • Puris/Papdis - 8
  • Nylon sev - 1/2 cup
  • Potatoes - 1 (boiled, peeled and mashed)
  • Onion - 1/2 (Chopped)
  • Tomatoes - 1/2 (Chopped)
  • Raw Mango - 1/4 cup (Chopped)
  • Coriander leaves - 1 tbsp
  • Green chutney - 2 tbsp
  • Sweet chutney - 2 tbsp
  • Lime juice - 1 tsp
  • Chat masala - 1 tsp
  • Roasted Peanuts - 2 tbsp
  • Black salt as needed
Method
  1. Prepare puri (click to vie recipe) or use ready made ones
  2. Prepare green chutney and sweet chutney (click to view the recipe).
  3. Assemble sev puri in plate, crack on top.
  4. Top some mashed potatoes, chopped onions, raw mangoes and tomatoes.


  5. Now, pour green chutney and sweet chutney.
  6. Sprinkle sev, peanuts, chat masala, chopped coriander leaves, black salt and squeeze lime juice all  over.

  7. Serve immediately.
