Mutton Sukka
Ingredients
- Mutton - 1/2 kg
- Onion - 2 (medium)
- Tomato - 2 (medium)
- Green chillies - 2
- Ginger garlic paste - 2 tsp
- Coriander leaves - few
- Salt as needed
- Oil - 1 tbsp
- Red chillies - 5
- Pepper corns - 1 1/2 tsp
- Fennel seeds - 1 tsp
- Cardamom - 2
- Cinnamon stick - 1 inch
- Cloves - 2
- Coriander seeds - 2 tsp
- Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
- Turmeric - 1/4 tsp
- Chilli powder - 1 tsp
- Salt as needed
- Lemon juice - 2 tbsp
- Marinate mutton for 30 mins with all the above ingredients under 'For Marination'.
- Pressure cook mutton for 2-3 whistles adding little amount of water.
- Meanwhile, dry roast ingredients mentioned under 'For Masala' and make a fine powder.
- Heat oil in a separate pan add chopped onions and green chilles, saute.
- Add ginger garlic paste and saute again till the raw smell goes.
- Add grounded masala.
- Add tomatoes and salt.
- Add cooked mutton pieces along with mutton stock (water left in pressure cooker).
- Cook for 10 minutes, till masala gets coated well with mutton pieces.
- Add 1/2 cup of water and simmer for 10-15 minutes in a very low flame.
- Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
